festival 3Prague Spring Festival

It is an international music festival, which takes place in Prague every spring from 12th May. It starts on the anniversary day of the death of Bedřich Smetana, famous Czech composer. This festival is from its inception a representative parade of the world’s best classical music and new trends as well. Those of famous personas, who participated in this festival, were for example Leonard Bernstein, Sir Adrian Boult, Lev Oborin, David Oistrach or Anne-Sophie Mutter.

Colours of Ostrava

It is a multi-genre music festival taking place in Ostrava every year from 2002. This festival is not only specific for its programme but also for its venue. The industrial area of the former mines, Lower Vítkovice, is now an open-space museum and it gives the festival a new dimension. The festival has hosted also worldwide know musicians, for example Mika, Björk, Rudimental, ZAZ, A. Morissette, Cranberries or S. O’Connor.

This music festival is specific for the venue of this cultural festivity. It is held on the Prague islands and shores, which makes this festival a very romantic event in summer. It lasts for four days in the end of June and comprises different genres of music performances on several stages spread around River Vltava. You can find there less known musicians not only from the Czech Republic but also from whole Europe.

orchestr 2Dvořákova Praha International Music Festival

From its inception, this festival has one main goal, which is to promote the good name of the Czech music through the legacy of the famous Czech composer Antonín Dvořák. The international audience can meet internationally-acclaimed orchestras, chamber ensembles, conductors and soloists presenting Dvořák’s music and other worldwide known composers as well. This international music festival lasts for 20 days in September and every day you can hear various performers from different corners of the world.

This well known music festival takes place in Litomyšl, the birthplace of the famous Czech composer of classical music Bedřich Smetana. The festival lasts for a month in the beginning of summer not only in the centre of Litomyšl but also around the town. The main venue is the Litomyšl Castle, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Come to see performances of the world’s best classical music.

Castles CZ (Hrady CZ) is a music festival, which is interesting especially for its venue. This festival takes place in different castles. Every weekend during the summer chosen castles in the Czech Republic hosts the festival for two days. The first year of the festival started in 2004. The venue makes a specific ambience, which you will definitely enjoy while listening to the favourite Czech musicians and bands.

Rock for People is one of the greatest festivals in the Czech Republic, which targets on rock music. The venue of the festival is the Festival Park in the premises of the former military airport in Hradec Králové. Other genres, that you can meet there are for example Metal core, Indie rock, Metal, Hardcore, Alternative rock, Punk rock, Pop, Ska, Electro, Drum and Bass or Reggae. Among the famous musicians, who participated in the festival, were for example Netsky or Tom Odell.

This multi-genre festival is also called the Family Festival among its fans, because you can meet there people of all age categories. This festival host also international bands and musician and takes place in the North Bohemia region. The 24th year hosts for example Tom Jones, the famous British singer.
